L. B. was born on April 13, 1932 in Cherokee County, SC to the late Loyd Waters and Leo Henson Waters.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and drove a truck for various cement companies until his retirement.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Memory Clale Waters.

     Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Elizabeth Beheler Waters; two sons, Romeo Waters and James Waters both of Ellenboro; one daughter, Penny Mathis and husband, Jerry of Ellenboro; one brother, Glen Waters of Golden Valley and three granchildren, Andy Mathis, Daisy Mathis and Debra Mathis.

     The family will be gathering for a time of remembrance at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 438 Pioneer Road, Ellenboro, NC.  Interment will take place in the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 22, 2011.
