Mr. Lander Carl "George" Wallace, 68, of 1101 W. Stagecoach Trail passed away Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
Born in Hanover County, NC, he was a son of the late Carl Evander Wallace and Irene Ingle Wallace. Mr. Wallace retired from Spectrum and was a lover of sports. Yankee baseball, Tarheel Basketball and Redskins football were his teams.
George is survived by his sister, Susie Cook of Shelby; aunts, Margaret Ledford, Thelma Putnam, and Dorothy Smith all of Shelby; several life long friends and his cats, Katie and Charlie.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 pm Tuesday at Stamey Funeral Home in Fallston. At other times the family will be at the home of Margaret and Ray Ledford, 3602-A Fallston Road, Shelby.
The funeral will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Cecil Buff and Jack Waters officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
