LaRue Brittain Boston, age 81 of S. Dixie St. died Sunday, November 15, 2015 at her residence. She was born on March 12, 1934 in Cleveland County to the late James Esley and Annie Mae Perry Brittain. She was a member of Plains View Baptist Church and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. LaRue enjoyed reading, gardening, and sewing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Dave, Bob, Mack, and Jake Brittain.
Survivors include her daughters, Dwan Stepp, Serena Taylor, and Dana Proctor (Michael) all of Vale; step-son, Larry Hannon (Brenda Kay) of Shelby; grandchildren, Deseray Bumgardner (Ricky) of Vale, Chelsey Koenigsaecker-Hoyle (Donna) of Shelby, and Casey Bumgardner of Shelby; great grandchildren, Annie Smith (Jeremy) of Hickory and Geoffery Bumgardner of Cherryville; sisters, Monte Leonhardt (James) of Dallas and Fonda Rulapaugh (Dave) of SC; and brothers, Randy Brittain (Betty) of Cherryville, Joey Brittain (Fonda) of Waco, and Paul Brittain of PA.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Carpenter's Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Ernest Speagle officiating. Burial will follow at Plains View Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12:00 to 1:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
