Laura Lee Willis Avery, 87 of Dallas Cherryville Hwy, Bessemer City, NC, died Saturday, February 28, 2015 at her residence. She was born on August 21, 1927 in Cleveland County to the late Andrew Lee and Mattie Ola Boyles Willis. She was a member of Puett United Methodist Church. Mrs. Avery enjoyed gardening and loved her cats. She also had a passion for traveling and camping.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna A. Neill; two brothers; and a sister.

Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Carl Avery; son, Mike Avery of Crouse; granddaughter, Andrea Neill of Dallas; and special friends, Gladys Mauney and Ruth White.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Puett United Methodist Church with Rev. Cliff Wall officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2:00 to 2:45 PM prior to the service at the church.
