CLIFFSIDE - Leavy Ann Johnson Scruggs, 100, of Cliffside Street, Cliffside, died on Friday, November 30, 2012 at her residence. A native of Cherokee County, SC, she was born on December 11, 1911, a daughter of the late Jackson David and Edna Henderson Johnson. She retired from Cone Mills Corporation - Cliffside Plant. She was member of Cliffside Baptist Church; she loved to cook and quilt.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Thurman Scruggs; one son, David Scruggs. She is survived by her son, Dean Scruggs and wife Becky of Seneca; one daughter, Joann Mitchell of Cliffside; seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, December 05, 2012 at Cliffside Baptist Church with the Rev. Joey Cantrell officiating. Burial will follow in Cliffside Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00pm - 2:00pm in the Sanctuary at Cliffside Baptist Church.
