| Lela Moore Crook, 79, of 248 Ridge Road, Blacksburg, SC passed away Saturday, October 1st, 2011 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
Born in Blacksburg, Mrs. Crook was the wife of John Crook, Jr. of the home and the daughter of the late Ernest William Moore and the late Lillian Wesson Moore. She worked as a cafeteria worker at Blacksburg Primary School and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Crook is survived by two sons, Michael & Claudia Crook and Brian & Jane Crook both of Blacksburg; two daughters, Sheila Tate of Mooresboro, NC, and Janet & William Chambers of Shelby, NC; four brothers, J. V., H. K., Leon, and J. K. Moore, all of Blacksburg; one sister, Ovella Camp of Kings Mountain, NC; three grandchildren, Leslie Heath & Michael of Shelby, NC, Michael Crook Jr. & Tammy of Gaffney, Ian Crook of Blacksburg and 1 great-grandson, Steven (Tweety) Johnston, and additional 34 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by brothers Ira Moore, Edley Moore, and Everette Moore and sisters, Iva Millwood and Ophelia Peterson.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 4 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 5th, at 2:00pm at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Vernon Craig and Rev. Paul Sorrells officiating. She will lie in state 30 minutes before the service. Interment will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will be at the residence.
