Mr. Leon Jackson, 66, of 6991 Narrow Lane Road, Smyrna, SC, went home to be with the Lord August 21, 2013, at his home. He is the husband of Barbara Jackson of the home and was a son of the late Melvin and Virginia Aldridge Jackson. Mr. Jackson was a member of Love Valley Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Barbara, are four sons - Bobby Rose and wife, Sherry, of Blacksburg, SC, Ricky Dover and wife, Tina, of Blacksburg, SC, Tommy Dover and wife, Amy, of Gaffney, SC, and Samuel Dover and wife, Von, of York, SC; four daughters - Mary Tucker and husband, Danny, of Blacksburg, SC, Audrey Crawley and husband, London, of Kings Mountain, NC, Sandra Dixon and husband, Paul, of Blacksburg, SC, and Sonya Dover and husband, Terry, of Blacksburg, SC; twenty grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; one sister, Brenda Richards; two nieces and three nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers - Junior Jackson and Randall Jackson.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8:00 PM at Love Valley Baptist Church, 2032 Bethlehem Road, Kings Mountain, NC. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, August 23, 2013, 4:00 PM, Love Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Barry Philbeck officiating. Burial will follow at Canaan United Methodist Church Cemetery, Smyrna, SC. At other times, the family will be at the home.
