Lewis H. Allen
Lewis H. Allen, age 80, of Michigan City, Indiana, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Friday, April 19, 2013 at Franciscan Hospice Center in Michigan City.

Lewis was born June 23, 1932 in Logan, West Virginia to the late Leonard Robert Allen and Sophia Vance Allen.  He was the owner and operator of Allen Aluminum Siding for over 40 years, before his retirement and was a faithful member of Emmanuel Baptist Church of South Haven, IN.  Lewis enjoyed ministering to children of all ages and worked for Child Evangelism Fellowship for many years.  He was widely known as “Uncle Louie” to all the thousands of children and adults to whom he ministered, and was a gifted ventriloquist and captivated audiences with his little friend, Zeke.  In his later years, he was involved with the nursing home ministry in which he faithfully visited and held services. He loved his Lord Jesus Christ, his late wife Judy, his children, grandchildren and friends dearly.  He truly finished his course and fought a good fight and many souls are in heaven as he was a dedicated witness for his Lord.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Judith Svendsen Allen and by fourteen brothers and sisters.

Survivors include two sons, Mark Joe Allen of Michigan City and John Christian Allen and wife, Cyndi of Valparaiso, IN; four daughters, Brenda Lou Allen of South Bend, IN, Laura A. Funchess and husband, Lanny of Cliffside, NC, Tina Marie Buckland and husband, Marvin, Faith Lynn Pisello and husband, David Keeling all of Michigan City.  He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, April 22, 2013 at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Reverend John Allen and Reverend Lanny J. Funchess officiating.  The family will receive friends two hours prior to service time at the church.  A private committal service will be held at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens on Tuesday.

Memorial donations are suggested to the Emmanuel Baptist Church Building Fund, 760 McCool Road, Valparaiso, IN  46385.
