Mrs. Lillian Whisnant Mintz, 97, of Kings Mountain, NC, (formerly of Polkville) passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2010. Services were held at Polkville Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Mintz was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Fred Dee Mintz, Sr.; her parents, David Barrett Whisnant and Lela Eaker Whisnant; an infant son; 4 brothers, Ray Whisnant, Paul Whisnant, Ivey Whisnant and Dr. Clyde Whisnant; 2 sisters, Ola W. Whisnant and Madge W. Lutz; and 1 sister-in-law, Virginia Mintz Turner and husband Lee.
She is survived by 1 son, Dee Mintz and wife Diane of the Delight Community near Polkville, NC; 3 daughters, Ann Boggs and husband Max of Fallston, Pat Crawford and husband Coy of Kings Mountain, and Judy Fernald of Hilton Head, SC; 8 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 8 step-great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandson.
