Linda Ann Noggle Clarke

Linda Ann Noggle Clarke, 73, formerly of Shelby died Wednesday January 5, 2011, at her Cornelius home.  A native of Cleveland County, she was preceded in death by her father, Charles Ervin Noggle.  Mrs. Clarke was a 1955 Shelby Debutante, Tri-Chair person of the Annual Dogwood Festival, former chairperson of the Board Of Deaconesses, formerly of the Greenfield Hill Congregation Church in Fairfield, Connecticut, taught school in the Cleveland County School System, formerly a member of Davidson College Presbyterian Church, Former VP of administration for the Women’s Symphony Guild in Charlotte, member of the Red Hat Society in Charlotte, member of the Peninsula Club of Lake Norman and active in the Salvation Army Charitable campaigns.  Mrs. Clarke had a great interest in needlepoint, cross stitch and participated in regional exhibitions and shows.  She was also an avid reader, walked for her exercise and loved playing golf.

 

She is survived by her mother Annie Mae Bobbitt Noggle; her loving husband Gary O Clarke; two sons, Chuck Clarke wife Vicki of Kennesaw, GA, Jeffrey Clarke of Fort Mill, SC; a brother Charlie Noggle wife Linda of Charlotte NC; 2 grandchildren, Ashley Clark and Alex Clarke of Kennesaw, GA.

 

The funeral service will be held at the Chapel of Cecil M Burton Funeral Home and Crematory at 3:00pm on Saturday January 8, 2011.  The Rev. William S. “Bill” Troutman will be officiating.  Interment will be private.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00pm prior to the service.

 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Charlotte Rescue Mission, 907 West 1st Street, Charlotte, NC 28202 or Greater Charlotte Hospice, 1420 E 7th Street, Charlotte, NC 28204.
