Cherryville -- Linda Avalona Dover, 71, of 232 Tot Dellinger Road, formerly of Blacksburg, passed away Friday, October 5th, 2018, at CHS Cleveland in Shelby, NC.

Born in Kings Creek, she was the daughter of the late Robert Ervin Dover and Thema Walker Dover. Ms. Dover worked as a cashier and was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church.

Ms. Dover is survived by two sons, Robert E. Patterson of Blacksburg and Jimmy D. Foster of Columbia; two daughters, Vanessa Foster and son-in-law Jimmy Harper, of Blacksburg and Christine Black of Cherryville, NC; three sisters, Margaret Smith and Jackie Patterson, both of York, and Cathy Lipsey of Kings Creek; seven grandchildren, Brant, Stowe, and Ricky Black, Michelle and Brandon Ellis, Paden and Taylor Patterson; and 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Ronnie, and Carl Dover.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 9th, 2018, from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm at Smyrna Baptist Church, 1613 McGill Highway, Smyrna, SC 29743. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 pm with Rev. Mike Thompson, Rev, Chad Ramsey, and Rev. Gregg Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Canaan United Methodist Church Cemetery. Stowe Black, Matthew Patterson, Lee Patterson, Ricky Black, Kevin Lipsey, Ronnie Patterson, Codie Black, and Brant Black will serve as pallbearers.

The family will be at the residence of her daughter, Vanessa Foster, 296 George Road, Blacksburg, SC.
