Linnie Houston Pruett, 91, of West Second St., died January 15, 2015 at Carolina Care Center. He was born in Casar, Cleveland Co. on March 31, 1923 a son of the late Thomas Aaron and Minnie Linda Elizabeth Sellers Pruett. Pruett was formerly employed at the Howell Mill, retired taxidermist, furniture upholsterer, shoe repairman and a jack of all trades. He found great pleasure fishing, hunting and being outdoors.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wives Edith Ingle Pruett and Margaret Harris Pruett and brother, Willard Pruett and sister, Dorothy Bridges.

Survivors include his children, Janice Champion of Cherryville, Kenneth Michael Pruett (Linda) of Cherryville, and James H. Pruett and wife Denita of Charlotte, four grandchildren Rick Absher, David Absher, Shane Pruett and Dawn Conner, five great grandchildren, Tasha Absher, Owen Conner, Will Conner, Alaine Pruett, and Emily Absher, and a great great grandchild, Nikolai Crisp.

Memorial service will be held Thursday, January 22, 2015 in the chapel of Carpenter's Funeral and Cremation Services at 7:00 PM with Rev. Bobby Holtsclaw and Rev. Jerry Reynolds officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 5:30 - 6:45 PM.
