Lois Doty Waters, age 88, formerly of Harmon Street, Forest City, died Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Willow Ridge Nursing Rehab and Living Center.

Born June 17, 1926 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter to the late Columbus Mills Doty and Lillie Norvel Doty. She was a graduate of Mt. Vernon High School, class of 1943 and worked for Dover Textiles for many years. Lois was a member of Sandy Level Baptist Church and enjoyed dancing, going to Saturday morning yard sales and traveling.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Waters; two brothers, Robert and Ben Doty; two sisters, Ola Doty and Lucy Hampton.

Survivors include two sons, Arnold Waters and wife, Ann of Forest City and Roger Waters and wife, Joyce of Rutherfordton; six grandchildren, Angela Waters McEntire and husband, Bruce, Audrey Waters Arrowood and husband, David, Tina Waters Melton, Michael Waters and wife, Summer, Alan Waters and Tyler Waters; six great-grandchildren, Austin McEntire, Dustin McEntire, Anna Arrowood, Lindsey Arrowood, Harley Upton and Kinley Waters.

Funeral services will be conducted at three o'clock on Friday, March 27, 2015 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ernie Cole officiating. Interment will follow in the Sandy Level Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
