Lois had a passion for cooking, gardening, college football tailgating, golfing, sporting events of all kinds, and the North Carolina Mountains. She was an avid fan of the Appalachian State Mountaineers, Clemson Tigers, and Tennessee Lady Vols.  Lois' grandchildren, Will and Julia, were her pride and joy. In her final weeks, Lois was cared for by many former nursing students and colleagues, who expressed the impact she made on their education and careers. This is a testament to her lasting legacy as a nurse, teacher, and mentor.
