Lorene Hudlow Lovelace
 Lorene Hudlow Lovelace, age 85, of Forest City, NC, died Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC.

     Lorene was born on February 3, 1926 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Claude Hudlow and Lillie Mae Smith Hudlow.  She worked for Stonecutter Mills for 33 years before her retirement and also as a CNA for Greene’s Rest Home for several years. She was a lifetime member of Smith Grove Baptist Church and a Cancer Survivor.  She was also a member of the local VFW auxiliary. She was a generous person who enjoyed cracking pecans, crocheting, growing flowers and gardening so that she could give to others.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.

     Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Clarence Lovelace; one daughter, Wanda Blanton and husband, Sam of Forest City; one son, Guy Lovelace and wife, Melanie of Norwalk, CA; two brothers, Andy Hudlow of Barnwell, SC and Hayden Hudlow and wife, Ethel of Forest City; two sisters, Maxine Jolley and husband, Donald of Rutherfordton and Brenda Dalton and husband, Troy of Forest City.  She is also survived by six grandchildren, Nathan Blanton, Greta Walker , Zeke Blanton, Lisa Pruitt, Kim Ramirez, Melissa Lewis; two great-grandchildren, Lauren Pruitt and Brannon Pruitt.

     Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 6, 2011 at the Smith Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Rick Wall and Reverend Cecil Lovelace officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Harrelson Funeral Home.  At other times they will be gathered at the family residence on Davis Road.
