Lorene M. Dover, 78, formerly of Caldwell Road, Blacksburg, SC, went home to be with the Lord December 2, 2013, at Peachtree Centre, Gaffney, SC. Born in Cherokee County, she was a daughter of the late Colonel Ace and Lillie Jane Moseley Martin. She was retired from TNS Mills and was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter - Susie Dover Carroll and husband, Mike, of Smyrna, SC; three sons - James Martin and wife, Brenda, Donnie Dover and Ricky Dover all of Blacksburg, SC; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters - Marjorie Mullinax of Blacksburg, SC, and Beth Keuerleber of Rutherfordton, NC; and two brothers - W. T. Martin of Smyrna, SC, and Charlie Martin of Blacksburg, SC. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one daughter - Nancy Dover, and three brothers - J. D. Martin, Henry Martin and Frank Martin.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-7:30 PM, at White Columns. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Smyrna Baptist Church, Smyrna, SC, 3:00 PM on Thursday, December 5, 2013, with Revs. Todd Justice and Barry Philbeck officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. At other times, they will be at the home of her daughter, 351 Rock Cut Road, Smyrna, SC.
Pallbearers serving are Jeremy Blackwell, Cameron Brown, Michael Dover, Jeremy Dover, Nick Bolin, Reuben Melton, and Charles Martin.
