Lorene Michaels Cobb, 76, formerly of Cherryville, died Monday, November 2, 2015 at Wexford House. She was born on December 12, 1938 in Gaston County to the late Luther B. Michaels, Sr. and Mary Kelly Michaels. Lorene was loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed Word Search puzzles, as well as knitting and crocheting.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Von Alfred Cobb; son, Stephen Ray Cobb; two brothers; and four sisters.
Survivors include her sons, Bill Cobb and wife, Angie of Sherrills Ford and Wayne Cobb of Lincolnton; daughter, Beverly Grass and husband, Link of Denver; brother, L.B. Michaels Jr. and wife, Debbie of Gastonia; grandchildren, Dana Marie Grass Wiggins and husband, Kevin, Jessica Marie Cobb, and Douglas Wayne Cobb, Jr.; and great grandchildren, Zachary Smith, MKenzie Smith, and Kevin Wiggins, Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Carpenter's Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Leonard Bumgardner officiating. Burial will follow at City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12:00 to 12:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
