Louise Lackey Powell, 85, of 5376 Rhoney Rd, Connelly Springs, died Sunday,
February 20, 2011 at Grace Hospital in Morganton.
Mrs. Powell was born in Cleveland County on August 26, 1925 to the late
Bryon Miller Lackey and Bunola Willis Lackey. She was retired form
Broughton Hospital as a healthcare technician. She was a member of
Polkville United Methodist Church but atteneded Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Erastus
"Ras" Lowrance Powell; son, Barry Powell and infant son Jerry Michael
Powell; and four brothers, F.S., Joe, Carl and Jack Lackey.
She is survived by a son, Randy Willis Powell and wife Pam of Connelly
Springs, three grandchildren, Rhoda Yoder and husband Jeff, Amanda Powell,
and Jason Powell; four great-grandchildren, Beth & Noah Yoder, Preston Buff
Powell, Najaven Williams, and expecting one more great grandchild. The
family would like to give a special thank you to care takers, Kathy Hudson
and Debra Barrier.
