Louise Wray Newton
Louise Wray Newton, 93, of 305 Hopewell Road, Ellenboro, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at home.

She was born in Cleveland County on May 30, 1921 to the late Thomas Frank Wray and Rose Miller Wray.  She was a homemaker, a Red Cross Volunteer, and volunteered for several area hospitals.  She was a member of Hollis Masonic
Eastern Star and Walls Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Paul Wray, Perry Wray, Parker Wray, Bob Wray, and Doc Wray; sisters, Pauline Powell, Jackie Beaver, and Faye Downs.

Survivors include her husband of seventy two years, Lemmie Nixsanders Newton, sons Jim Newton and wife Bernice, Lemmie Newton Jr., and wife Sharon all of Ellenboro, Wray Newton and wife Patty of Inman, SC, daughter Beatrice
Conard of Shelby, four grandchildren Tammy Connell, Gayle Alston, Rick Conard, and David Newton, thirteen great grandchildren, and sister, Mazel Wolf & husband, Lester.

The family will receive friends Thursday, June 26, 2014, 4-5 PM, at Stamey Funeral Home in Fallston.

The funeral will be held Thursday, June 26. 2014, 5 PM, at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel, Fallston with the Rev. David Philbeck officiating.

Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
