Mrs. Jenkins was born in Gaston County, NC on October 24, 1920 a daughter of the late Jacob Wesley Knight and Anna Jarmon Styles.  She was retired as a spinner in textiles and a nursing assistant at Carolina Care Center in Cherryville.  Mrs. Jenkins was a member of Cherryville Missionary Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Michael Jenkins and a daughter and son-in-law, Rita Williams and husband Leonard all of Cherryville and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Saturday, February 4, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00p.m. at Stamey~Cherryville Funeral Home and at other times the family will be at the home of Diane Hudson, 5678 Coot Williams Rd. Cherryville.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, February 5, 2012 at 3:00p.m. at Cherryville Missionary Methodist Church with the Rev. Bobby Holtsclaw, Dr. Dennis Bean and Rev. Ken Faulkenbury officiating.

Burial will be in Cherryville City Memorial Cemetery.
