Waco - Lucky Stuart Rumfelt, 52, passed away on January 6, 2015 at his
residence.
Lucky was born in Catawba County, NC on June 16, 1962, a son of the late
Robert Burton Rumfelt and Shirley Ann Pruitt Oates. Lucky was of the Baptist
faith and had attended Gospel Way Baptist Church in Cherryville. He devoted
his life to caring for others and currently worked at Peak Resources in
Cherryville as a CNA/Med Tech.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his stepfather, who
raised him, William Franklin Oates.
Survivors include three brothers, Eric Oates of Cherryville; David "John
Boy" Oates of Polkton; Bobby Rumfelt of Texas; a step brother, David Lee
Carroll of Grover; four sisters, Nina Oates Vincent of Cherryville; Kim
Oates Brittain of Kings Mountain; Ruby "Sissy" Oates Justice of Grover;
Melody Rumfelt Bailon of Texas. Also surviving are numerous neices, nephews
and other family members and two special friends who were like brothers,
Billy Wilkie and Tommy Willis.
A time of Rememberance and Visitaion will be from 12:00 Noon to 3:00PM on
Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Bethel Baptist Church in Lincolnton.
Burial will be Private.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights
Dr. Shelby, NC 28150.
