Mr. Luther James Dailey 75 of Ellenboro went to his heavenly home Tuesday June 19, 2018 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center. He was born in Polk County, Florida to the late Andrew W. Dailey and Ethel Steadman Dailey. He was the loving husband of Valeria Harris Dailey of the home. He worked for Thompsons Contractors of Rutherfordton for 30 years, a member of Haynes Memorial Baptist Church in Henrietta, a loving family man who loved camping, fishing and just being outdoors.

He is also survived by a son James Anthony "Tony" Dailey and wife Patricia of Ellenboro, two sisters: Hattie Lee Culpepper and Barbara Jean Copeland both of Winter Haven, FL. Three grandchildren: Amanda Lynn Harris, James Anthony Dailey, Jr. and Riva Virginia Dailey and four great-grandchildren; Hannah Grace Dailey, Ashleigh Shyann Harris, Travis Michael Doster, Abigail Nicole Dailey.

Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by a brother Junior Dailey and four sisters: Beatrice Dailey, Jewel Tripp, Virginia Price and Shirley Harrill.

Funeral service will be Friday 3:00 PM June 22, 2018 at Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside with the Rev. Dwayne Scruggs and Rev. Sam Henderson officiating. The gathering of friends and family will be from 2:00 to 3:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Final resting place will be at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery, Forest City following the funeral.
