SHELBY- Mabry "Mutt" Bowman, 93, died Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at his residence. A native of Cleveland Co., he was born to the late Joe and Emma Thornton Bowman. He was a wonderful husband, dad and pawpaw. He was a faithful member of New Bethel Church where he loved to sing and he could quote any scripture in his bible. He proudly served his country in the US Navy and was a World War II vet who was on the beaches of Normandy on D-Day.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Terry Bowman; grandson, Shane Bowman; two brothers; and five sisters.

SURVIVED: He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Betty Jean Spurlin Bowman, of the home; sons, Randy Bowman and wife Sherree, Mark Bowman, and Scott Bowman and wife Sheila, all of Shelby; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 Friday, July 27, 2018 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.

FUNERAL SERVICES: will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, July 28, 2018 at New Bethel Church

OFFICIATING: Rev. Mark Patchett, officiating

BURIAL: will follow the service at Sunset Cemetery with full military honors.
