Madge L. Melton, age 88, of Forest City, died Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Nana's Assisted Living.
Born March 27, 1927 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late William Kirby Lookadoo and Celie Mae Carver Lookadoo. Madge worked on the family farm for many years before going to work for Cliffside Mill and Spindale Mill. She was a member of Duncan's Creek Presbyterian Church and enjoyed flower gardening.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by four brothers, William Worley Lookadoo, Glen Franklin Lookadoo, James Berry Lookadoo and Richard Dwight Lookadoo.
Survivors include two sisters, Dorothy Duckworth of Forest City and Barbara Campbell and husband, Buddy of Rutherfordton.
Funeral services will be conducted at two o'clock on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at the Duncan's Creek Presbyterian Church with Reverend Bart Shaw officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church. At other times they will be gathered 105 Wycliffe Road, Forest City.
