Madge Silvers Brookshire, age 81, of Forest City went to her Heavenly Reward on Wednesday. Madge was a native of Yancey County a retired kinder garden teacher and homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Spindale. Madge was preceded in death by her husband Willie Augustus Brookshire, mother Martha Lucille Silvers, son Larry Dean Brookshire, grandchild Dana Danelle Seifres and great grandson Logan David Seifres.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Anna Carolyn Brookshire, grandchildren Michelle Brookshire and Wendy Trahan; great grandchildren Sarah Seifres, Haiden, Hailey and Skylie Trahan.

Memorial services will be 5 PM Saturday at Crowe's Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Andy Evans officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-5 PM Saturday prior to the service. Burial will be in the Western Carolina Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
