Mae Sue Phillips Gillian, of 103A Persimmon Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 28, 2022 at Regency Hospital of Greenville.

Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of the late Marvin "Bill" Gillian and daughter of the late Corbet Phillips and Daisy Sentell Phillips. She retired from textiles, loved her family, gardening and cooking, enjoyed putting scriptures online, and was an avid Facebook user.

Surviving are two sons, Kenneth Sheppard of Grover, NC and Rex Sheppard (Sherri) of Blacksburg; a daughter, Debbie Arrowood (David) of Grover, NC; six grandchildren, Brandi Crocker, Kelly Ferguson, Amy Heffner (Jonathan), Melissa Sheppard, Brittany Sheppard and Kenny Sheppard (Haley); nine great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Sheppard, five brothers, George Phillips, Vernon Phillips, Roy Phillips, Willie Phillips and Dean Phillips, and four sisters, Nannie Smith, Odell Henderson, Dora Bonner and Ruth Smiley.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Ashby Blakely officiating. Entombment will be in Clingman Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
