Cherryville - Mrs. Marcene Dellinger Hester, 81, passed away on Friday,
March 17, 2017 at Carolinas Healthcare Systems - Lincoln.

Mrs. Hester was born on April 30, 1935 in Lincoln County, NC a daughter of
the late James Dellinger and Alda Painter Dellinger. She was retired as a
seamstress from Bike Athletic in Cherryville. Mrs. Hester was a member of
Shady Grove Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday School teacher and
choir member.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Carl C.
Hester; a brother, Hasting Dellinger and a sister, Shelby Jean Beal.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Sheila Hester and
Kenneth and Angela Hester all of Cherryville; four grandchildren, Clifton
Hester (Julie Shipton), Stacie Day (Jason), Amber Chapman (Larry) and
Kenneth Hester, Jr.; six great grandchildren, Taylor and Trenton Chapman,
Maggie and Ila Day, Anthony and Zak Shipton.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00PM on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at
Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home and at other times the family will be at the
home of a son, Danny Hester.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, March 20, 2017 at Shady
Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Dale Hendricks and Keith Hollar
officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.
