Cherryville - Mr. Marcus A. "Dem" Moss, 88, of 114 Johnson Lane, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain.

Mr. Moss was born in Cleveland County, NC on June 5, 1927 a son of the late Thomas L. Moss and Catherine "Kate" McSwain Moss. He was retired as a diesel mechanic from Carolina Freight Carriers Corporation in Cherryille. Mr. Moss was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Cherryville and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Ann B. Moss; four sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Sam Moss & Debra of Sneads Ferry; a daughter and son-in-law, Markie Jones & Don; five grandchildren, Shane Hester, David Jones and wife Kristen, Scott Jones and wife Angela, Jeff Jones and Nathan Moss; two great grandchildren, Gracie Hester and Braden Jones and a brother, James "Puzie" Moss of Shelby.

Visitation will be on Friday, May 13, 2016 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home & Cremation Service.

Services and burial will be private.
