Margaret Sue Cash Whitaker Land, 80 of 1195 Pete’s Rd., died July, 13, 2013 at her residence in Lincolnton, NC.
Mrs. Land was born on July 26, 1932, in Gaston County a daughter of the late Romey Cash and Lily Cash London. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Lincolnton, and former member of First Baptist in Cherryville, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. Margaret was a graduate of Gardner Webb University and previously employed as an administrative assistant at Lakewood Care Center in Denver. She loved dancing, music, playing the piano, and horses.
In addition to his parents she is preceded in death by her step-father, Perry London; brothers, Jesse James Cash and Jack London; and sister, Edna Ellis.
Survivors include her daughter, Carla Land and significant other, Adam Castillo of Vale, granddaughters, Madison Victoria Jones and Taylor Elaine Hudson; significant other of 18 years, William “Bill” Garner of Lincolnton; and former husband, James Carlee Land of Chesnee, SC.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 12:00 PM at Carpenter’s Funeral and Cremation Services. Interment will follow at 1:30 PM in Cliffside Cemetery, Cliffside, NC. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:30 to 11:45 AM at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
