Marie B. Hastings, age 98 passed away Friday, August 31, 2018 at Peak Resources Cherryville. She was born January 20, 1920 in Cleveland County to the late Claude and Ollie Parker Boyles.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Hastings; grandchild, Paula Hastings; siblings, Hershel Boyles, Beulah Smith and Matilda Jarrels.
She is survived by her sons, Jerry Hastings and wife, Linda of Cherryville, Keith Hastings and wife, Barbara of Cherryville and Mike Hastings of Myrtle Beach; grandchildren, Jeff Hastings, Doug Hastings (Lauri), Kevin Hastings (Lisa), Kim Peeler (Jason), Kristin Greene (Troy), Ben Hastings (Chelsea) and Dustin Hastings; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Ashley, Rex (Rebecca), Jenna, Hunter, Tucker, Katy and Mattie.
A Funeral Service will be held Monday, September 3, 2018 at 4:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Jerry Lail officiating. Burial will follow at Cherryville City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 3:00 until 3:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of Jerry and Linda of Foster Rd.
