Marie Louise Platanitis (nee Cust), 44, of Shelby, NC passed away on Thursday, January 29. She was born to the late Lucy Cust (nee Buoniconti), Aug. 19, 1970, in Springfield, Ma. Marie graduated from Cathedral High School in 1988. She married Robert Platanitis in 1999 and they later relocated to Shelby with their two boys, Matthew and Jonathan.
Marie loved doting on her family and friends which brought more joy to her than anything else aside from a good book. She was also active in promoting autism awareness.
Marie is survived by her husband, two children and three brothers: James Cust, Jerry Cust and Jason Cust.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 12 p.m. at St. Patrick's of South Hadley in Springfield, MA.
