Mrs. Marie Starnes Yelton age 98 formerly of Spindale, NC went home to be with The Lord on Friday March 18, 2016 while being cared for at Salemtowne of Winston-Salem.

Born in Gaston County; Marie was the daughter of the late John William Starnes and the late Annabelle Armstrong Starnes and was the widow of James Wyman "Jim" Yelton. She was a homemaker and a member of Spindale United Methodist Church.

Marie is survived by her son William Wyman Yelton and his wife Rebecca of Winston-Salem; her Granddaughter Stephanie Lynn Williard and husband Charles as well as their children Emma Riley Williard, Kathryn Elizabeth Williard and Charles Franklin Williard, Jr.; her Grandson Wyman Scott Yelton and his wife Ashley as well as their children Wyman Tate Yelton, Reagan Marie Yelton, Carson Thomas Borter, Allison Daniel Borter and Macy Lauren Borter. A number of other friends and relatives also survive.

A memorial service will be held 3 PM Saturday March 26, 2016 at Eternal Hills Memorial Park 1565 Oakland Road, Forest City, NC 28043.
