Mrs. Marie Wellmon Martin, 82, of 108 Rena Drive, Shelby, NC passed away Sunday, October 31,  2010. Services were held at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel, Fallston, NC. Burial followed in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Fallston. 

Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her husband, Junior Martin; her parents, Gus Wellmon and Alda Self Wellmon; and 1 son, Bobby Martin.

She is survived by 1 daughter-in-law, Vicki Martin of Shelby; 3 grandchildren. 6 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Julie Mae Ayers of Shelby; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Frank and Judy Wray.
