Marion Lavonne Black, 65, of 152 Jerry Road, Forest City, NC, passed away April 7, 2019, at Rutherford Regional Medical Center, Rutherfordton, NC. Born in Kings Mountain, NC, she was the daughter of the late Sherman Marion and Peggy Cook Childers. She was a seamstress in the Textile Industry. She was a former member of Temple Baptist Church, Kings Mountain, NC. She loved the old John Wayne movies.

Left to cherish her memory are three sons - Don Arthurs of Grover, NC, Sonny Morrison of Columbia, SC and Larry Campbell of Aiken, SC; four brothers - Wynn Childers of Kings Mountain, NC, Bruce Childers of Lincolnton, NC, Steve Childers of Cherryville, NC and Wyman Childers of Palmyra, IN; one sister - Wynona Phillips of Kings Mountain, NC; and a caregiver - Lee Thrift of Forest City, NC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother - Rodney Childers and two infants.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. The family is at their respective homes.
