Marjorie Ethel Carroll Hinkle, age 94, of Mary's Grove Rd passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Wendover Hospice House. She was born December 31, 1921 in Gaston County to the late Olin and Irene Davis Carroll. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and enjoyed gardening and reading. Marjorie was a wonderful homemaker and the best momma ever!
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John Otis Hinkle; son, Gregory L. Hinkle; siblings, Frances Moffett, Evelyn Carroll, and Kenneth Carroll.
She is survived by her children, Dennis Hinkle of Raleigh, Jeff Hinkle and Chris of Lewisville and Becky Hoyle and husband, Wayne of Forest City; brother, William Carroll and Norma of Easley, SC; grandchildren, Jonathan Hinkle, Trey Phelps, Amanda McNeilly, and Megan, Jacob and Mason Hoyle and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services with Rev. Leonard Bumgarner officiating. Burial will follow at City Memorial Cemetery. Family will receive friends Saturday prior to the service from 2:00 PM until 2:45 PM at the funeral home.
