Marjorie McNeely, 89, of 204 Big Hill Road, Lawndale, passed away Tuesday,
November 25, 2014 at Carolinas Continue Care Hospital in Kings Mountain
surrounded by her family.
Born June 25, 1925 in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late John
Hudson and Bessie Hastings Hudson. She was a homemaker and a member of St.
Paul Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, J.D.
McNeely; five brothers, Harvey Hudson, Coy Hudson, George Hudson, Ray Hudson
and Will Hudson and five sisters, Flossie Foster, Mozelle Earl, Vangie
Downs, Dessie Smith and Lily Wortman.
Survivors include three sons, Scott Hudson and wife, Susie of Sedalia, MO,
Jerry McNeely and wife, Pam of Sedalia, MO and Wendell Wortman of
Colletsville; three daughters, Libby Williams and Mary Ann Cook of the home
and Patricia Blanton and husband, Rick of Casar; two sisters, Dollie Hull of
Morganton a nd Lois Brackett of Forest City; fourteen grandchildren,
Melinda Mullinax and husband, Steve, Jody Cook, Crystal Craig and husband,
Tommy, Jonathan Blanton and wife, Dana, Justin Blanton, Tammy Logan and
husband, Patrick, Jeff Wortman, Sondra Wortman, Kathy Pittman, Christopher
McNeely, Kevin McNeely, Gabe Summers, Theodore Summers and Matthew Summers;
nine great-grandchildren, Haley Hamrick and husband, Eric, Heather Mullinax,
Tanner Logan, Mason Logan, Garrett Logan, Mason Blanton, Alexa Blanton, J.R.
Parker and Savannah Parker; and six great-great grandchildren.
Visitation: 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, Friday at St. Paul Baptist Church, Casar
Funeral Service: 1:00 PM, Friday at St. Paul Baptist Church, Casar
Officiating: Rev. Keith Fulbright and Rev. Jackie Price
Burial: will follow in the church cemetery.
