Mark Frederick Smallwood, Jr., age 94 of Cherryville, NC, passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Robin Johnson House. He was born August 1, 1926 in York, SC to the late Mark Frederick Smallwood Sr. and the late Dixie Knight Stinnette.

Mark was a WWII veteran of the United States Navy. He was a lifetime member of the Shelby VFW post 4066. Mr. Smallwood found great pleasure in bowling and playing softball for Wix. He had the privilege of playing in the softball World Series in New York.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Rufus Smallwood, and Dewey Clyde Stinnette; and sisters, Bonnie Roberts, and Betty Wright.

Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Don and Wilma Stinnette, special nieces B. J. Hart and Lisa Smallwood and several other nieces and nephews.

A private graveside will be held in the veteran section of Gaston Memorial Park with U S Navy Honors. Friends may call on the family at the home of Don and Wilma Stinnette.
