Marla Davis Boone
Mrs. Marla Davis Boone, 55, of 2416 S. Lafayette St., went to be with her Lord and Savior, Thurs., June 13, 2013.  Born Nov. 18th, 1957, in Cleveland County, she was the daughter of Reba Cash Davis of Shelby, and the late A.V. Davis.  She was a teacher’s assistant for Township Three Elementary School for 14 years.  In addition to being a loving care giver to many children through the years, Marla, or Mimi as she was affectionately called, and her husband opened their home to nine different foster children since 2007.  They adopted two of those children and were also instrumental in persuading others to open their heart and homes through foster care which resulted in the adoption of other children in the program.  Marla was an active member of Faith Baptist Church in Shelby, where she served her Lord in several different ministries such as nursery worker, Sunday School teacher, choir member, and bus driver for church activities for all age groups.  Marla was quick to share the gospel message with acquaintances and strangers alike and was a faithful prayer warrior.  She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her, especially her beloved family and church family.
