Mr. Marlon Gene “Lighting” Spake age 73 died Friday November 9, 2012 at Crawley Memorial in Boiling Springs. Born in Chesnee SC on July 13, 1939 he was the son of the late John Elmer and Ethel Spake. He enjoyed hunting, spending time with family, and being outdoors. He was a member of Casar Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Mr. Spake is survived by his wife of 34years Joann Tallent Spake; one son, Charlie Spake and wife Mary of Casar; two daughters, Doran Spake of Chesnee, and Tammy Spake of Gastonia; four sisters, Edith Wood of Wilford, SC, Thelema Moore of Gaffney, SC, Linda Painter of Chesnee SC, Lois Prickett of Chesnee, SC; nine grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday November 11, 2012 at 3:00 pm at Gantts Grove Baptist Church in Mooresboro with Rev. Robert Lane officiating. Family will receive friends Sunday November 11, 2012 at the family home from 6:00 until 8:00pm at 412 New House Road, (Whispering Oaks Estates lot 6) Ellenboro.
Memorials can be made to Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and crematory to offset funeral expenses.
