Martha Burns Freeman

Martha Burns Freeman, 77, of Harbour Walk, Cumming, Georgia, formerly of Ellenboro, died on Friday, January 23, 2015 at Embracing Hospice House. A native of Rutherford County, shew as born on October 16, 1937, a daughter of the late Clarence and Nannie Mae Helton Burns. She was a retired public school teacher having retired from Ellenboro Elementary School. She was a member of Ellenboro Presbyterian Church, a graduate of Carson Newman College and loved to play the piano and organ.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Miller Freeman; two brothers, James Burns and Kenneth Burns. She is survived by her son, Dr. Jack Miller Freeman, Jr., M.D. and wife Andrea of Cumming, Georgia; her grandchildren, Cory Cronin, Christian Grantham, Luke Russell and Andrew Freeman.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Ellenboro Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Bill Kirk officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at McKinney-Landreth & Carroll Funeral and Cremation Service.
