Martha Cope Brown, age 52, of Ash, NC, formerly of Rutherfordton, passed away Friday, March 10, 2017 at the UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill.
Born May 4, 1964 in Greensboro, NC, she is the daughter of Ann Hockett Bruton and the late Theodore Willits Cope. She was a graduate of South Brunswick High School, class of 1982. Martha was an animal lover and worked as an animal caretaker for several years. She also enjoyed riding motorcycles, cooking, reading, watching movies and listening to music. Martha was a kindhearted person with a wonderful sense of humor.
Those left to cherish her memory include her two children who are the pride and joy of her life; daughter, Daryl Brown and son, J.T. Brown both of Rutherfordton; companion, Tim Jennings of Ash, NC; step-father, Tom Bruton of Winnabow, NC; two sisters, Linda Bartlett of Little River, SC and Laurel Williams of Wytheville, Virginia.
At the request of the family there will no formal services conducted.
