Shelby - Martha Deane Towery, 80, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2013, at the Kitty Askins Hospice Home in Kinston, NC.
Born September 23, 1932, in Shelby, she was the daughter of the late W.T. "Bert" Brackett and Edith Hayes Brackett. She was retired form Shelby City School System, a homemaker, and former member of Westview Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph W. Towery.
She is survived by her three sons Joseph Towery and wife Frankie of Fleming Island, FL; Dr. Charles Towery and wife Beth of Kinston, and Keith Towery of Charlotte, NC; three brothers, Foy Brackett and Rev. Jim Brackett both of Lawndale, and Bill Brackett of Brown's Summit; eight grandchildren, Andrew Towery, Joshua Towery, Emily Towery, Hayes Towery, James Towery, Katherine
Towery, Charles Towery, Jr. and Megan Towery.
