Martha Eugenia Dill Thompson
Martha Eugenia Dill Thompson, 84, of 123 Thompson Road, Blacksburg, SC, went home to be with the Lord December 6, 2016, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born in Pickens County, SC, she was the wife of Mason Thompson and the daughter of the late Henry Twyman and Ruth Jordan Dill. She was a graduate of Gaffney High School and South Carolina Baptist Hospital School of Nursing. She was an active member of Mt. Paran Baptist Church where she was a member of the Lidia Sunday School Class. She loved gardening, traveling and needlepoint.
In addition to Mason, her husband of 62 years, she is survived by three sons - David Thompson and wife, Sharon, of Gaffney, SC, Steven Thompson of Spartanburg, SC, and Jeffrey Thompson of Blacksburg, and a special friend, Ron, (aka Paramedic) Four grandchildren - Jeanna Pressley and husband Nathan, Jade Thompson, Lacey Thompson and William Thompson and wife Amanda; two great-grandchildren - Maci Thompson and Abigail Pressley; one nephew - Jordan Dill; and four nieces - Betty Dill Pridemore, Laura Dill Bono, Kasey Dill Carnley and Shannon Dill Sparks. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three brothers - James Welton(Jimmy) Dill, Mylnor Alan(Micky) Dill and Hal T. Dill.
The family will receive friends Thursday, December 8, 2016, from 1-2:00 PM, at Mt. Paran Baptist Church. A Celebration Of Life Service will begin at 2:00 PM, with Revs. Darrell Revels and Lee Coyle officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. At other times, they will be at the home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Meals On Wheels, 403 W. Montgomery St., Gaffney, SC, 29341, or to the charity of one's choice.
Pallbearers serving are Steve Broome, Mickey Bailey, David Gibbons, Hal Howington, Jr., Brad Howington and Jim Wilson.
