Gaffney -- Mary C. Wilborn, 77, of 247 Cherokee Ridge Rd, passed away on Wednesday, July 15th, 2026, at her home.

Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of the late William Clyde "Butch" Wilborn and the daughter of the late Johnny Elvis and Magge Lee Burgin Horne. Mary was always an active person who loved to dance as a child and young adult. Later, she was a bowler for several years and loved fishing with her husband and family.

Surviving Mrs. Wilborn are a daughter, Crystal Cobb (Larry); a son, William "Buddy" Wilborn (Jill); four grandchildren: James Spurlin II, Justin Wilborn (Carmen), Andrew Wilborn (Brittany), and Gaige Wilborn; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Beatrice Walker; and her in-laws: Ralph Wilborn (Betty), Charles Wilborn, Ailleen Jones (Mike), Dolly Rankin, and Larry Wilborn.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 19th, 2026, from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Gordon Mortuary of Gaffney. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 20th, 2026, at noon in the Gordon Mortuary of Gaffney Chapel with Rev. Tom Thornton officiating. Burial will follow in Frederick Memorial Gardens. Justin Wilborn, Andrew Wilborn, Gaige Wilborn, Charles Wyatt, Doug Walker, and Doug Wilborn will serve as pallbearers and Jason Asselin serving as an alternate.
