Mary Crawford McKinney, age 87, of Mooresboro, NC, died Monday, January 10, 2011 at Hospice House.

     Mary was born on April 14, 1923 in Laurens County, SC to the late George Pinkney Teseniar and Lillie Jennings Teseniar.  She worked in textiles for over 50 years before her retirement and was a longtime, active and faithful member of Caroleen Congregational Holiness Church. She enjoyed canning, gardening, taking trips to the mountains and reading her Bible.  She especially delighted in taking care of her family and providing for family gatherings.  She was a dedicated Christian lady.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband of 49 years, Willie Grayson Crawford and her second husband of 21 years, John H. McKinney; six brothers, Elliott Teseniar, Ed Jennings, Tom Teseniar, Brett Teseniar, Cecil Teseniar and Will Teseniar.

      Survivors include one son, Gene Nelson Crawford and wife, Judy of Rutherfordton; three daughters, Patricia McEntyre and husband, Ron of Ellenboro, Katherine Smith and husband, David of Forest City and Sandra White and husband, Phillip of Spindale; one step-daughter, Mildred McElveen and husband, Larry of Belmont, NC; one step-son, Johnny McKinney and wife, Deborah of Mooresboro; 19 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great grandchildren.

     Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at the Forest City Foursquare Church with Reverend Ricky Poteat, Reverend Paul Nelon and Reverend Charles Evans officiating.  Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery.  Mary will lie in state at the church one-half hour before service time at the church.  The family will greet friends at the cemetery after the committal service.
