Mary Della Mullinax Anderson

Mary Della Mullinax Anderson, known fondly as Della to her friends and family, was a beacon of love and kindness to all who knew her.

Born on March 12, 1954, in Blacksburg, South Carolina, Della's life journey came to a peaceful close on November 16, 2024, in Shelby, North Carolina.

Della was the cherished wife of Wayne Anderson, Sr., with whom she shared a life full of joy and unwavering companionship. Together, they built a family grounded in love and mutual respect. She was the adored daughter of Ray Mullinax and Frances Turner Mullinax, both of whom preceded her in death, as did her beloved six brothers Gene, Leonard, Joe Frank, Sam, Junior, and Roger Mullinax.

Her legacy continues through her devoted children: Jonathan Anderson and his fiancée Wendy, Wayne Anderson, Jr., her two daughters, Vickey Stroup, and Renee Bass and her husband Larry. Della was a loving sister to Terry Mullinax, the only surviving sibling, with whom she shared a special bond. Her role as a grandmother was one of her greatest joys, a role she embraced with open arms for Macy Anderson, Austin Yancey, Courtney Stroup, Tyler Stroup, Lexus Burnett, Sarah Burnett, Jordan Cope, Miranda Todd, Calista Bass, and Niles Bass. Della was also blessed to see the world through the eyes of her great-grandchildren: Gunner Stroup, Everleigh Price, Canaan Price, and Halley Todd, each of whom added a sparkle to her eye and joy to her heart.

A funeral service to remember the life of Della will be held this Friday evening, November 22, 2024 at 6:00 pm in the Chapel of Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jeremy Mahaffey officiating. the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Della's life was a testament to her loving, friendly, and kind nature. She nurtured her family with a gentle strength and unwavering support, creating a home that was a haven of warmth and affection. Her friends knew her as a person who always extended a helping hand and a listening ear, embodying the true spirit of friendship.

Throughout her life, Della found happiness in the simple pleasures: the laughter of her grandchildren, the companionship of her husband, and the gatherings of her extended family. Her presence was a comforting constant in the lives of those she loved, and her absence will be deeply felt.

As we say goodbye to Della, we also celebrate the remarkable woman she was. Her life was a beautiful mosaic of the love she gave and the relationships she cherished. She will be remembered not only for the roles she filled so gracefully but also for the generous spirit she shared with the world.
