Mary Elizabeth "Lib" Gault Warlick, age 101, formerly of Peach Street, died Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Oakland Living Center in Rutherfordton. Born in Mecklenburg County on March 12, 1915 she was the daughter of the late Conway Jackson and Dovie Buff Gault. Lib was a member of Hoyle Memorial United Methodist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir when she could. She was very active in the Senior Center where she received the first 20 year volunteer pin. Most of all, she loved her family and cherished her annual beach trips with them, and she is up in Heaven starting a game of Skipbo. In addition to to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Forrest Warlick; three children, Jimmie Forrest, Peggy Joyce Anderson and Elizabeth Jackson, four brothers, C. J. Gault, Bill Gault, Buck Gault, and Boyce Gault; three sisters, Louise Blankenship, Virginia Jolly, and Nelline Stroup.

Lib is survived by two sons, Robert Warlick and wife Laurel of Spindale, and Philip Warlick and wife Barbara of Raleigh; a daughter, Jane Griffin and husband Gary of Rutherfordton; a son-in-law, Dr. Joe Jackson of Westfield; thirteen grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Denise Kilgo-Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm.

The family would like to thank the staff of Oakland Living Center in Rutherfordton and Monte Leonard, Linda Carpenter, and Cari Bellairs, her caregivers, for all the loving care they gave to Elizabeth while in their care.
