Mary Elizabeth “Lib” Stacey
Mary Elizabeth “Lib” Stacey, age 82, of Jack McKinney Road, Forest City, NC, died Saturday, June 28, 2014 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
 
     Born March 26, 1932 in Cherokee County, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Overcash and Dorothy McFarland Overcash. She worked as a nurse’s aide for several years and was a homemaker. Lib was a longtime and faithful member of Victory Baptist Church and was an avid salt and pepper shaker collector.  She loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. 
 
     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-nine years, Ed Howard Stacey; son, Larry Wade Stacey and grandson, Brian Stacey.
 
     Survivors include five sons, Rev. Eddie Stacey and wife, Faye of Williamston, SC, Roger Stacey and wife, Donna of Inman, SC, Steve Stacey and wife, Carolyn of Greenville, TX, Dale Stacey and wife, Barbara of Cowpens, SC and Bobby Stacey and wife, Tina of Gaffney, SC; sister, Sadie Millwood of Ellenboro and brother, Charles Overcash of Spartanburg.  She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a host of special friends and loved ones.
 
     Funeral services were conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, June 30, 2014 at Victory Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Toney, Rev. Danny Black and Rev. Johnny McCarty officiating.  Interment followed in the church cemetery.  The family received friends one hour prior to service time at the church. 
 
     Memorial donations are suggested to Victory Baptist Church, Soco Gap Road, Ellenboro, NC  28040.
