Mrs. Mary Ellen Ervin Goode, 89, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Testa Family Hospice.

Born September 23, 1926 in Tennessee, she was the wife of the late Grady William Goode, Sr. and the daughter of the late Oliver Ervin and the late Irene Smith Ervin. She was a member of Gantt's Grove Baptist Church, where she was heavily involved and played the piano. A Christian woman who loved her church, she loved playing the piano, singing and was devoted to her family.

Survivors include her two sons, Grady W. Goode, Jr. and wife, Connie and Wayne Lee Goode and wife, Cissy; five grandchildren, Gregory Goode and wife, Michelle, Brian Goode and wife, Sheri, Michelle Cook and husband, Michael, Nicole Albright and husband, Trey and Sunny Kee and husband, Blake; six great-grandchildren; one brother and two sisters.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two sisters.

A funeral service will be held at 5 PM Tuesday, May 10th at Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside by the Revs. Robert Land and Mike Frazier. Burial will follow in Trinity Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times at the home of her son, Wayne.
