Mary Frances Bryce

SHELBY- Mary Frances Bryce, 93, passed from this life on March 3, 2015, at Kings Mountain Hospice House.

She was born June 10, 1921, to the late John Ed and Mattie Hamrick Davis. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Bryce, a sister, Annie Lewis, and brothers, Walter, John Ed, Jr. and Billy Davis.

Survivors include her sisters, Faith Adams, and Jean Bankhead and husband, John, of Shelby and numerous nieces and nephews who will miss Aunt Frances dearly.

She retired from Federal Reserve Bank in Richmond, Virginia. Frances was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Shelby and a dedicated American Red Cross Volunteer. She also participated in the Cleveland County Potato Project and the Lions Clubs food charities.

Frances loved to help others and to make them smile. This included picking berries to use in cooking or to give away, making donor cake and passing out her famous yeast rolls fresh from the oven. Her kindness, laughter and zest for life will be remembered warmly by those who were lucky enough to know her.

Mrs. Bryce will lie in state from 2 until 2:30 p.m., prior to the service.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, March 7, 2015, at the First Baptist Church of Shelby, visitation with a life celebration held in the activities building following the service.
